The Farther I Remember

Group show at Sous Les Etoiles in NYC. 10 Dec - 4 Feb.

Please join Sous Les Etoiles Gallery for the opening reception of “The farther I remember,” a group exhibition showcasing the work of acclaimed emerging and established photographers Carolle Bénitah, Eeva Hannula, Susanne Wellm, and Robin Cracknell.

“The farther I remember” highlights each photographer’s unique relationship to memory and time. In the collected works on view, the artists have mined their past, dreams, and subconsciouses to create images that are at once familiar and new using various techniques and crafts that include the layering of images, direct physical contact with the photograph, and analog and digital methods of reworking the negative or original image.

sand

“I rather think the world is like sand. The fundamental nature of sand is very difficult to grasp when you think of it in its stationary state. Sand not only flows, but this very flow is the sand.”

Berlin 23.06

So pleased to be part of European collectives like Kaetha and ParisBerlin Fotogroup
and collaborate with other artists.
Tragic that, on this very night, a narrow majority chose to burn these bridges.

The Guardian / Family

'Although not crammed with pictures of smiling relatives, this fridge is a pretty fair reflection of my small family. Not just my son's changing faces but a fragment of his poetry as well -- words can be more authentic than a photograph sometimes. My father (who died suddenly while visiting me in London) always watching over me, his face beside the grandson he never met'.

Nice to see my refrigerator door in the Weekend Guardian.

My heart – he thought again and again.
We relate to it as twigs to the rain:
The two clocks show different times.
