The term 'Camera Suture' came to me by accident, a mis-hearing of 'Kama Sutra'. I didn't know that, in film theory, 'suture' is an appropriation from psychoanalysis and actually refers to the use of cinematic technique which generates positions in the audience. It’s effectively that 'gap' in the text of the film in which the subject/audience/player places him/herself: a you-shaped hole in the text which you stitch yourself in. An unexpected coincidence that a phrase picked at random actually refers precisely to the focus of my work.
